NEDLAC HAS PUBLISHED OVER 50 AMENDMENTS TO THE LRA BCEA, EEA & NMWA – THIS IS VITAL KNOWLEDGE FOR YOU AND YOUR ORGANISATION
Fundamental and long awaited changes to the LRA offer unprecedented opportunities to streamline your practices and procedures, and save your company time, money and trouble. However, the amendments are a double-edged sword – there are major benefits to be grasped, but there are also severe drawbacks and pitfalls that you must avoid. This Webinar will set them out in straightforward and practical terms – in the way that you have come to expect from Andrew Levy, your trusted guide through the tangled web of labour for over 50 years.
Why Now? Because this is an admission that large parts of the way that labour law is understood and applied is dysfunctional, abused, and not fit for purpose. The most severe problems in our society are job creation and unemployment and many of these amendments, already agreed to at NEDLAC, are aimed at addressing these two major issues.
What’s Changing? We can now see an end of tortuous dismissal processes, clarity on strike ballots, more onerous retrenchment requirements, proper probation periods and clarification, exemptions for small employers and startups on bargaining council rates and dismissal processes, extended powers for the CCMA, limitations on closed shop agreements, exclusion of protection for high earning employees, a new Code of Good Practice on Dismissal, and payment of workers on standby.
What you need to know: Andrew has scrutinised the entire documentation and published drafts and identified the essential knowledge you need to know as well as the administrative and judicial changes of lesser importance, which he will present in a practical and applied manner. This will take you to the heart of the changes, preparing you to reap the benefits, and avoid the perils.
On the job implementation: These amendments have been decided upon at NEDLAC after an exhaustive process and will be implemented. Let Andrew show you how to use them to your advantage and protect your company from abuse, extortion and the vagaries of the CCMA. Thus providing you with the reassurance you need to act decisively and confidently back in the workplace.
Question Time: Set out in his popular Q&A format, the issues will be covered in detail, supported by practical guidelines and charts, and presented in a clear, understandable and engaging format. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and benefit from the interaction with other delegates.
